Information for Members

All our members get regular emails and mailings about forthcoming local events and issues, and we also publish a newsletter several times a year.

Branch Mailing Preference

The branch periodically sends out information to members via email or post, providing local news and information on events and special offers such as exclusive social events and day trips, or branch competitions.  Please Note: If you opted out of receiving information from UNISON when you joined, or via your "My UNISON" account you will not receive this information.  Members who opt-out will only receive statutory ballot and AGM information.  If you would like to change your preferences and receive other local news and information, you can update your preference online at my.unison.org.uk or contact us using our website form.

Want to get more involved?

Being a union representative can be very rewarding and is a great opportunity to develop as a person and gain some fantastic new skills. These could be in learning, publicity or representing members. You can find out a lot about different subjects from employment law to campaigning. UNISON provides all the training you’ll require and we have a variety of interesting roles you can get involved in. You will get paid time off to attend any courses and meetings required, and you don’t have to commit huge amounts of time to the role.

Being part of a team means we share the load, and as a new steward you’ll have lots of experience to call upon, both locally and via our regional officers.  If you're interested in finding out more contact one of your local stewards or use the contact us form.
